Summoners

The interests of summoners are even more esoteric than those of ordinary mages. Intrigued by the art of mind control, they develop the ability to summon and enslave other-worldly creatures to do their bidding. In the process, they learn to tap into other dimensions for travel and attack. Summoners tend to have less directly offensive spells than their other magi brethren, but seem to show preference to spells involving fire and air.
Characteristics: Summoners must possess a powerful mind so that they can more easily control the minds of others. Hence, their bodies are often poorly developed. However, their powers over the mind tend to make them rather likable persons.

Summoners are the most defensive oriented of the offensive casters. Utilizing various types of barriers of protection that they call to protect themselves and companions, summoners can hold out well in combat. Summoners are recognizable by the animal familiar that they often times keep with them.
