Usage: assess (object)
Referred to with a scoff by mages as the "poor man's identify", this skill allows one to evaluate the quality of a single weapon or piece of armor. It will return a rough estimate of the item's usefulness. However, it only works on armor or weapons, and cannot assess anything beyond the raw armor value or damage of the weapon, ignoring any plusses or special abilities that the item might happen to have. Those who are not well-versed in this skill have also been known to make faulty assessments.
